ENSEMBLE NOBILE: Renowned Israeli MusiciansYeela Avital: Soprano
Ye'ela received her vocal degree from the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem, studying with Miriam Melzer and Marina Levit. She began her musical path singing as soloist at the "Ankor" choir. She participated in master classes with Nancy Argente, Evelyn Tubb, Joan Dornmann and Vera Rosa Nordel. Since 1998 Ye'ela has been performing in concerts and recitals in Israel and abroad, with a repertoire ranging from early to contemporary music, next to well known artists from Europe. As soloist Ye'ela performed with orchestras such as "Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra", "Israeli Chamber Orchestra", "The Ra'anana Symphonette" and "Hakibbutz Ha'artsi Choir". She recorded for the Israeli radio and television with ensembles such as "Spirito Barocco", and "Arkadia". Ye'ela performs constantly in international festivals, such as the "York Early Music Festival", the "Abu Gosh Festival", the "Yehiam Festival" and the "Days of Music in Upper Galilee Festival." She has been awarded a yearly scholarship from the America-Israel Foundation in the years 1998-2004. In 2001 she won the first prize in the "Baroque Music Contest" at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem.
Shlomit Sivan Rosen: Baroque Violin
Shlomit started her Violin studies at the Jerusalem Conservatory with Walter Reiter, and continued with Viola studies under David Hen. Graduating from the Young Musicians Unit of Mishkenot Shaananim, she served as an outstanding Musician in the IDF Chamber Quartet along with Guy Brownstein and Gilad Hildesheim which toured the former Soviet Union. In 1991 Shlomit received a full scholarship from USC University, where she studied with Donald Mc'Guiness. She is also a winner of scholarships from the American Israel Cultural Foundation, and has performed on its behalf in recitals in the USA. Shlomit graduated cum laude in her BM studies at the Rubin Academy in Tel Aviv and has played in numerous festivals including Interloken (USA), Schleswig Holstein, Rolansek (Germany), Kfar Blum, Yehiam, and Abu Gosh. In 1993 she was accepted as a member of the Israeli Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Shlomo Mintz. Between the years 1998 – 2002 she taught at the Stricker Conservatory in Tel Aviv. Shlomit recently recorded for the Israeli Broadcast Authority, as part of the "Young Musicians in the Center" program.
Amit Tiefenbrunn: Viola da Gamba
Amit studied double bass with Eli Magen and has played with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and the Beer-Sheba Synfonieta. In 1991 he went to the Netherlands, where he studied Viola da Gamba at the Utrecht Conservatory of Music with Anneke Pols and violone at the Royal Conservatory in Hague with Maggy Urquhart. There he also studied the art of building historical String instruments with Dirk Jacob Hamoen. In the Netherlands Amit was a member of two Baroque orchestras - Florelegium Roterdam and Brabant Baroque Colegium - and of Ensemble Aeole which specialized in polyphonic music from the Renaissance and the Baroque. Amit recorded several CDs and made recordings for the Dutch and the Israeli Radio. He constantly participates in international festivals, such as: Bachwochen Festival in Eisenach, Bachtage Festival in Berlin,Abu Gosh Festival, Yehiam Festival and Music Days in Upper Galilee. In his workshop Amit builds viols, Baroque violins, vielles and other string instruments. In his performances and CDs he plays instruments which he has built.
Yizhar Karshon: Harpsichord
Born in Israel, 1974. Yizhar Graduated from the Jerusalem Music Academy, under the guidance of Mr. David Shemer, from the Musicology department of the Hebrew University (B.A), from the Early Music School in Basel, and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis under the guidance of Jörg-Andreas Bötticher. He won prizes in the Jerusalem Music Academy, Baroque Music Competitions, Bach Competition and Chamber Music Competition. He was awarded an excellence scholarship from the Dean of the Performing Arts Faculty in the Music Academy and from the America - Israel Cultural Foundation. Yizhar participated in the Utrecht Early Music Festival in Holland, and in Breiace Student Festival in Slovenia.

27-year old Israeli mandolin player Avi Avital was recently awarded the first prize of the international competition for Plucked Strings "Città di Voghera" (Italy). He has played as a soloist with important orchestras and Baroque ensembles, including the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, the Israeli Chamber Orchestra in Tel Aviv, The Chamber Orchestra of Milano (Orchestra Cantelli), the Baroque Ensembles Arion and Fantazyas (Italy), the New Israeli Opera, the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, the Beer-Sheva Symphonietta, and the Chamber Orchestra of the Jerusalem Music Academy. He has played under the baton of distinguished conductors such as Mastislav Rostropovitch, Asher Fish, Phillip Antremont, Roberto Balconi, Andrew Lawrence-King, Christian Egen and Oskar Gershonzon.
Avital performs widely in Israel, Europe, USA and the Far East. His festival appearances include the 1st International Rondella Festival 2004 (The Philippines), "Les Muséiques 2005", directed by Gideon Kremer, (Switzerland), Ravenna Festival 2004, directed by Riccardo Muti (Italy), and the 4th international EGM plucked strings Festival (Germany).
Avi Avital dedicates a large portion of his musical activity to performing and creating new music. He has played over 25 premieres of mandolin pieces by contemporary international composers. He is often involved with a variety of performing arts - Contemporary Dance, Theatre, Video art and Electronic Music.
Avital is a member of traditional and contemporary chamber ensembles with whom he recorded many albums. Those include the Kerman Mandolin Quartet, Three Plucked Strings (mandolin, guitar and harpsichord), Kaprizma Ensemble (Israel), Dissonanzen Ensemble (Italy) and David Orlowsky's Klezmorim Quartet (Germany). Since 2004 he has performed regularly with the renowned clarinetist Giora Feidman, with whom he recently played in the International Youth Day, Köln, in the presence of the Pope Benedict the 16th. He is a member of Giora Feidman's Sextet with whom he recently recorded a CD of traditional music. His playing can be heard in the Israeli Classical Music radio Kol Hamusica, in RAI3 Italy and at the WQXR in New York, among others.
Among the numerous awards he won are the first prizes of the "Giovani Talenti" (Italy), the Tzvi Rotenberg National String Instruments competition (Israel), the Paul Ben-Haim National competition (Israel), the Sharon Tavor – Pintz competition for Soloists (Israel) and the Edna Sarny competitions (Israel). He has been awarded scholarships from the America – Israel Cultural Foundation and from the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Avi Avital is a graduate of the Jerusalem Music Academy and Conservatorio Cesare Pollini of Padove under the tutelage of Moti Shmit and Ugo Orlandi. He has given lectures and master classes at the Stanford University, California; Conservatorio "Giuseppe Verdi" in Milan; the Rubin Music Academy in Jerusalem; the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, the University of the Philippines in Manila and the University of Torino.
